Sharon West, Clinical Reflexologist

Frequently Asked Questions

How many treatments will I need?

This is very much dependent on the reason you’re seeking a treatment and your individual response to reflexology.  Many clients who are looking for relaxation and stress relief feel benefits immediately after their first treatment.  They then continue to return regularly, fortnightly or monthly.

Clients who visit for a specific issue or symptom/s will benefit from more frequent treatments and I might initially recommend a course of 6-weekly treatments, then moving onto fortnightly then monthly ‘maintenance’ treatments as their health and wellbeing improves.  This is something that we can discuss at the first initial treatment.

Please be assured that there is never any pressure to book further treatments. You can return as and when you wish.  At each treatment I will ask you if there are any changes and will adjust your treatment plan as necessary based on this and any imbalances that I might find when working your feet.

Please feel free to book just one treatment.  Then you can see if reflexology is for you.

How will I feel after a treatment?

Everyone responds differently and most people feel relaxed and rested with an overall sense of well-being.  Occasionally some people experience a slight headache, increased thirst, tiredness or need to go to the toilet more.  All this is perfectly normal and is the body reacting to detoxification.  It usually lasts no longer than 24-48 hours. You are advised to take it easy for the rest of the day following your treatment and to drink plenty of water to encourage removal of toxins from your body.

Payment

Payment can be made by card, cash or by BACS if prepaying.

Health Care Cash Plans

If you have a health cash plan you may be able to reclaim all or part cost of your Reflexology treatment. Please check your policy for details and mention this when making an appointment so that a receipt can be ready for you at each treatment.  Some providers of healthcare benefits plans such as Bupa, Paycare, Medicash and Sovereign all cover reflexology.
